Musical Discovery: ‘Wish You Were Mine’ by Philip George

With a release date of the 28th December last year, Philip George’s Wish You Were Mine slowly made its way through the charts during the 2014-2015 period. Now, it’s received loads of radio airtime and is resting nicely on the Number 2 spot on the charts.

It was on Capital FM that I heard this track for the first time. Since then, the repetitive but catchy vocals – alongside a deep house synth melody – have developed into an earworm that I just can’t ignore!

The vocals themselves are a remix – taken from the great Stevie Wonder’s track, My Cherie Amour. But Philip George is respectful of Wonder’s vocal talents, whilst also creating the perfect debut single to demonstrate his talents as a DJ.
