NaPoWriMo – The Haiku

I thought of a new thing,
A rather complex haiku.
I hope this will do.

I gave this a miss
In the past. Too hard. No rhyme?
Just a question. Is this

A haiku? I don’t know.
This is an early attempt.
What do you think? Say below!

  1. I disagree with Sue – you can write a haiku about anything, provided there is a twist at the end of each one that you write. I’ve written about loads of different subjects and even did some in the voice of Danny Dyer! What I will say Liam is that the common structure is 5/7/5 syllables and you have 6 syllables on a couple of lines. The syllables thing can be tricky, so I tend to look up syllable counts online if I am not sure about certain words. Here’s how I would write it to follow the 5/7/5 pattern:-

    What is up with that?

Check out my shameless plug below for some inspiration. Write lots of them – my first few attempts had six syllables instead of five on some lines – practice makes perfect mate 🙂
