A Thinker’s Memory…: Liam’s Memory Challenge

This post is inspired from a game show I saw on the BBC called Britain’s Brightest last Saturday. I found it interesting as it went on about memory, multi – tasking and other activities in the brain…

Now, I don’t know if I mentioned before my interest in psychology. But how the mind works has always interested me. Also, I’d like to think that I have a good memory. For example, if you have me the name of a person I know, I could picture their face, and if you showed me a picture of a face, I would be able to name them. As well as that, I did aim to celebrate 4,500 views by letting you choose what I write about, but no one commented with an idea. So, instead, to celebrate (sorry it’s late!) I aim to set myself a challenge to remember the UK Top 20 from last Sunday’s (6th January). So, here’s some more information…

On Sunday, I made note of the 20 songs, and used it as a memory aid. At the end of the day, I kept the note of the Top 20 but wasn’t allowed to see it (you have my word that I won’t cheat!) and had to revise it.

This Friday, I shall upload a post simply of me reciting the 20 songs. At the bottom, I shall put the actual Top 20 below, so you can determine how well I did (I’ll upload it once I have recited the 20 songs, I will not cheat!)

On the program itself, it said the key to memorising up to 20, 100 or even 200 objects/things is by making a mental story of them all. So that is what I intend to do…

Once again, I will not cheat. If I end up not memorising any of them, I will say so!

Wish me luck!

Liam
